Just got in the mail today: Afx AB 4 (last track side ? reminds me of the UI's red or blue hardcore... my memory is failing me...) Plug Me & Mr Sutton 12" (only listened to side one, but not as great as I'd hoped... anyone know if this is from a full length or its own thing?) Microstudio (better than the Plug! And I only listened to side A...) alt frequencies cd (giving it the 1st listen right now... was scratching my head at first over the Dunderhead, but liking it VERY much... of course, Tom J is next =) __________________________________________ sfwd@sonic.net

This 12" has 2 remixed tracks from "Drum n Bass for Papa". AA1 is a rather monotone Boymerang mix, and A1 is Mr. Vibert at his cheesiest - he's got this eazy listening theme looped pretty much throughout the entire piece, sounds like the type of arrangement/instrumentation you hear on US sitcom music (e.g. Golden Girls?). Not particularly innovative but had me in stitches when I first heard it... GD

I've become a big fan of the Microstudio record. It is very intelligent and musical. It is creative and at times innovative. It is not typical drum and bass, it has a jazz element that feels natural and unforced. It is also electonic in esthetic, a good honest marrage of these senses. I like it. You can check out soundfiles of it on our web page. Peace Jason

Let it be known that never a day goes by without an attempt at buying new music =) More new stuffs: --Black Dog Bytes thus far, very good... no, I hadn't heard the entire release before... trying to decide if I like it better than Spanners... seems much more dance oriented thus far... I'm guessing that the Balil tracks are our regularly posting celeb, K.D. and the Plaid are Andy and Ed... correct? --Jedi Knights New School Science bought this after Big Knockers (which I didn't think was amazing, but sort of fun... enjoyed the sampler at least as much as the rest of the single, if not more...) this one sounds a little bit better, some pretty groovy sounds... --dj food - recipe for distaster no idea, but I pretty much have dug everything I've heard in the past... what I didn't get... Squarepusher Plays... 12" and Coldcut Journeys... cd... Anyone have a copy of Plays that they want to part with for cheap? later __________________________________________ sfwd@sonic.net

No way.... the b-side "Deep Fried Pizza" track is one of my favorites by Jenkinson. Keep looking though..... it's worth it. onnow: v/a freezone 3 (SSR) Lame Thread Prevention in Effect: Aaron Michelson --------------------------------------------------------------------- aw-teck'r (autechre) "Everything you Know is Wrong" For reviews, interviews, art & trash http://www.on-it.net/~aaron/ aaron@defiant.on-it.net

trip to pick up death in june tix today was a success (got two of the last three at ameoba!!!) while there, I picked up a few goodies: 0161 - yup, i was the last one on the list to pick this up, but i had a damn good excuse... suppose nothing has to be said about this as everyone else has posted their own reviews already =) Morgan Geist (Clear) - 2 tracks. one an uninspired piece, one very fine track. looks the two tracks are both from an upcoming full length (wish i'd noticed that before!!!) the second track makes me want that full length bad! funki porcini vs jerry van rooyen (sideburn) - holy shite!!!! this 12" is very cool... whose rooyen and whats the rest of the sideburn catalog (or Crippled Dick Hot Wax catalog) sound like? 3 tracks. Very smooth jazz... this makes me reach for my Bitches Brew. Much less d n b than Lets See What Carmen Can Do (and less trip hop than previous porcini stuffs) if you like acid jazz, get this *NOW* if you like porcini, get this *now* 0161 is turning out very nice =) Picked up a copy of the Gescom Motor 12" (this being an extra copy) Anyone up for trading? Also have an extra Gak 12" Chris brap@sonic.net http://www.sonic.net/~brap/ Black Dog, Genesis P-Orridge, Whitezone-L, etc. http://www.sonic.net/~brap/list.html CD / Vinyl Trade List - Want List C.Gosselin, PO Box 8264, Santa Rosa, CA 95407
