Sorry if I missed this earlier but what the hell does Rubber Johnny sound like? My local shop hasn't gotten it yet (though I've seen it elsewhere) and I'd like to know what it's like before I order it. thanks Howie

The Rubber Jhonny single is basically an attempt on the mystery artist's part to join the vogue ranks of the 'drillnbass' subgenre (aka Squarepusher, AFX, Plug, Muziq etc). It's not bad, but not superb. It was one of those Warp sinlges that was shrouded in the ol' 'who is it' thing so that people would want to buy I guess. Sort of like Wooden spoon in that is was overhyped. On the first track the guy seems to have superglued his finger the the key that triggers the amen snare sample or something; it's a bit over done. over hyped by IDM yes. we just put the record out because we liked it. it's good but will not go down in the all time hall of fame. not every record we put out has to. g.
