kevin saunderson, juan atkins, and derrick may are all more or less equal in
the birth of Detroit techno. In fact they all went to the same high school.
Saunderson's "Electronic Dance" released as K.S. Experience is considered an
early detroit classic. He was behind KMS Records, based in Detroit, which
was certainly seminal in the birth of the entire genre of techno with releases
also involved with Inner City ("Big Fun" and "Good Life") as a songwriter,
producer and mixer. He certainly doesn't have the prominance today that his
fellow detroiters enjoy, but he certainly belongs in the techno hall of fame.
