Speaking of Sandoz, has anyone heard the latest release, _God Bless The
Conspiricy_? Anything to get excited about?

I posted this to the CV mailing list a few days back re the new Sandoz:
The new RHK aka Sandoz effort "God Bless the Conspiracy" is a mixed bag. I
would beg to differ with the last warning in that the album does not sound
like the Nitrogen Intoxica record at all. Or the other alphaphone stuff.
For that matter it does not sound like any of the other Sandoz records
either. It has it's own 'feel'. Yes it has plenty of loops and repitition
from hell (well heck isn't that half the reason we buy these records? Well
ok it is for me) but it is not fast and driving techno/house for sure.
There are plenty of new sounds and collaging techniques going on which for
me was welcome becasue I was tired of RHK using the same sounds and
drumloops album after album.
So what does it sound like? Slower, moodier, not as in yer face 'dancey'.
Still minimalistic in structure (ie the repition). It has beats, but not
the usual 808/909 4/4 stuff you would expect. In fact no track contains
the bass drum/high hat 4/4 patern ad nauseum. True there are a few
attempts at a faster tempo drumnbass sound, but even then the tracks are
light in construction.
Overall I would say the album is good, not brilliant, but that it has its
own sound and what seems like an attempt at a slightly different direction
from Mr. Kirk. If you're an RHK fan, it's recommended.
