ok...so i was at the tortoise show in boston the other night (which, by the way, was phenomenal. t'ain't idm, but it rocks nonetheless...) and between bands, they were playing some great electro. i asked casey rice, their soundman (also known as "the designer"--he's got a couple of great lo-fi, minimalist 12"s out), and he told me that all the tracks were from a comp. called "electro for droids." anyone have any info on it? any reviews? thanks. phil p h i l i p h u g h s h e r b u r n e - - - - - - b r o w n u n i v e r s i t y - - - - - - - - - 4 0 1 . 4 5 3 . 4 1 1 6 - - - - - - - - - - - - "everywhere, organized music is traversed by a line of abolition--just as a language of sense is traversed by a line of escape--in order to liberate a living and expressive material that speaks for itself and has no need of being put into a form." --deleuze & guattari

It's the latest in the David Toop-compiled series on Virgin that also includes 'Ocean of Sound' and 'Crooning on Venus' (Venus? some planet, anyway). Tracklist looks OK if you don't already have most of it elsewhere. C. -- C.Hilker (cspot@hyperreal.com) "We don't relax, we Rolex"
