Well, according to my watch it's about 1:15 PM in Jolly Olde England at the
moment, and the first few hardy folks should be chillin' to the opening
rounds out at TG 6.
Meanwhile, I tried to ready myself for some listening fun by grabbing the
appropriate players and plug-ins and got everything hooked up on the ol'
PowerMac 8500.
I connected to
http://www.TribalTV.COM/ and all I can say is, what a mess.
I certainly hope Blighty has more to offer Web site-design wise than this.
The layout is cockamamy - if you click on the schedule links the resulting
clip from the TG main site doesn't fit into the slot in the middle (i.e.
you get a horizontal scrollbar). There's a picture on the Site Map of
the "Trans Atlantic/Europe" tent, but when you try to go there, it tries
to go to
http://www.TribalTV.COM/ttv1/trans/index.html when instead there's
a link at
http://www.TribalTV.COM/ttv1/atlantic/index.html. Duh. And of
course, there's seemingly NO link to the Trans-Europe virtual tent (no,
"
http://www.TribalTV.COM/ttv1/europe/index.html" didn't work), so I suppose
the chances of hearing Kraftwerk are slim & none, and Slim's on a plane to
Jamaica ...
Of course, the way things look at the moment, hearing ANYONE will be
impossible, because every time I click on a "Go there" link, my RealPlayerPlus
gets an "Error 29" "Server disconnected" error popup. Which either means
that the SGI running the site is getting swamped, or doesn't have enough
streams on offer, or is just plain not running at the moment. *shrug* The
net result is all the same to me, i.e. I can't access it and it looks like
I'll be left with nothing other than begging Stuart@4th World for a tape
of the Kraftwerk broadcast :-)
