I had both Virtual State and The Conversation by Richard H. Kirk, but sold them a long time ago. For me, his music is thoughtless and drab. It just didn't light any spark with me. I was listening tothe second disc of The Conversation while in bed one night and it dawned on me that he had used the subtle sounds of a bong being smoked in the background. What the hell is he trying to say to me? That this music is good for being stoned to? Great! Who the f*ck cares!? I sold my two Kirk CDs the next day and have not bought his music ever since. Now, I don't care that people smoke and I can see how ambient music and pot can go together, but the addition of the bong sounds in this disc just make me feel that the artist is cheapening his music by gearing it toward the drug user. I felt insulted as a listener. I also sold my UFOrb because it had he same bubly bong sounds, as I remember. Go figure. Hess -/\= Hess M. Hey Hess, You don't, by any chance, own that Cypress Hill LP with 'hits from the bong', do you? Or perhaps 'Paul's Boutique' by the Beastie Boys? That ones got some righteous bong noises. I, personally, buy two copies of any record with those bubbly bong sounds, so I can get twice as much bong noise! Looking for the poker, brock. np: A bong noise loop I just sampled, timestretched, and gated with SoundForge.
