In regard to the post from sfwd@sonic.net and to the rest of IDM land that
would care:
In knew that my post might offend some, so I will do what I can to clarify
and elaborate on
what others might consider disagreeable.
First and foremost, I publically declare all respect, regard and admiration
for Genesis P. Orridge and the body of work that he has left this world
for those that would listen. I do not state this to be hip nor merely
agree with you so as to avoid confrontation. My life, and the way that I
view my greatest love (music), is permanently changed because of the man.
I also do not state this to be hip or merely agree, but I , too am an avid
fan ( since 1978. )
My points regarding the point below relate to articles in various British
music rags from the TG era: Melody Maker, NME, Sounds. Discographies would
cite the Celluloid release of "DOA, 3rd and Final
Report" as a shameful bootleg. I believe that ReSearch, Issue 4/5 also has
a mention of it in the discography section. A rumor amongst the press was
that Gen was a brutal and vengeful man and would track down the
manufacturers at Celluloid. Whether I believe it or not is another story.
I * too* doubt that Gen would kick anone's ass. I was citing a rumor...my
lines were "an old story".
My knowledge of Genesis is that he has accute knowledge of the psychology
of violence and its obscenity and would never, ever betray that knowledge.
