Since I started this whole "WANTED: Radio Mix" subject (sorry!), I just want to put my 2 cents in. I have no idea what the CD sounds like, nor do I really care, all I know is that it's a collector's item that has its own WARP catalogue number (I try to collect 'em). So as a collector and Ae trainspotter, I simply want to fill a gap in my record collection. Is there something wrong with that?? I don't see why I should be labelled as some sort of mindless idiot for wanting it. Also, I don't think the CD should be pressed, cuz then it wouldn't be a novelty anymore. Again all IMHO... -Mike

i think he was talking about people who are burning the RA file, not people who want to find a real copy of the disc. Personally, if I had a CDROM burner, I would burn all the stuff I have on tape/RA/MP3 but I certainly wouldn't make a certain amount of copies and give it away, I would make one for myself.

yeah.. the novelty of it is lost if ppl are burning their own copies also imho, some people only care about the tracks and not exactly how they got there, but for me, owning an illicitly(illegally?) burned copy of the disk would certainly not be the same as owning the real thing. .auddplte <-- gescom ep __ __\ \ / /_\ \ \_____/ , m7=

Well, for me I care about the music above all else, and if a bootleg can do a better job than otherwise (in this case it can't) so be it. I wouldn't mind supporting a bootlegger if he captures better music the artists label, obviously the label needs help (again, not in this situation). But given the value I've seen people place on bootlegs, your though surprises me (just a little). I as well wish for the artist to be well rewarded, and I certainly wouldn't buy a bootleg before having given my share (i.e. bought lots of records), that would be unfair & would hurt the artist (which is not what we want). Or if the same quality (or better) was available somewhere else. In this case, it isn't. On Tue, 6 May 1997, at 15:49:17, The Rare Guy wrote:

yeah, if it's better quality then what I just said just goes right out the window :) usually it isn't though. not really the same thing, but in the case of SAW2 I would rather buy the regular black vinyl than the brown one, because the brown one would probbaly get ruined if I played it much. __ __\ \ / /_\ \ \_____/ , m7=
