I live near San Fransisco, but obviously not close enough =) Purchases : nin - perfect drug versions (somewhat dissappointing...) plug 1 & 2 (!!!! may be selling my plug 1 once I actually recieve this...) Aphex Twin SAW I (much better than I excepted... no, I'd never heard it before a couple days ago) DJ Vadim ussr repertoire (bought locally... nothing else even looked interesting... not nearly as good as I'd hoped or thought it'd be... still enjoyable tho...) Anyone see the clip on nuclear testing and a small town in Utah on one of those tabloid tv shows last week? It was interesting as it had an old film clip from which all those samples in Atomic Moog 2000 were taken... __________________________________________ sfwd@sonic.net LToN DiY Noise.Ambient.Techno.Industrial HomeRecordings & Such 4 Cheap ($3) http://www.sonic.net/~brap/ (add your wasted time to our catalog)

Speaking of Twisted Science: I've got their 'Blown' album which is quite remarkable & was wondering how the aforementioned compares to this one. Any (dis)similarities b/w them? Also, besides the 'Cold Fusion' ep (which I don't have) - anything else that I should look into? Any info on this is gratefully accepted. Thanks very much. JEM OnNow: sensorama. zu gast auf der (welcome insel) [ladomat] track one: harz. born under a rhyming planet rmx (rmxed by jamie hodge) OnNext: as one. in with their arps, and moogs, and jazz and things [clear]

_Freedom of Noise_ is a much more formative album... same ideas, but the execution is rougher. still great, but the juxtaposition of noise and structure isn't nearly as seamless as it is on _Blown_.

the four Lo Recordings compilations are unmissable - and most feature Jon Tye in some form. his track on NINEbar's _Joint Ventures_ compilation is also excellent, though the collaborative Slack Dog Ensemble EPs (Lo Recordings and Flowershop) are still Tye's greatest moments of unadulterated tech-noise. i'd also consider his lesser-known _Io_ album/soundtrack (on Rising High UK) an essential purchase, especially if you enjoy fragile beatless ambience like Global Communications' Sensorama remix. even airier than MLO's _01:01:01_... it has to be one of the most supernaturally subtle albums ever released. cheers!
