Is this Mo' Wax record you're referring to the _Sukia_ album? I'm pretty sure this came out first on the Los Angeles label Nickelbag and was then picked up for wider distribution by Mo' Wax (ala Dr. Octagon). Not IDM, IMO, but a mostly successful sleazy space-lounge record with snippets of hypnosis tape dialog, astronaut samples etc. Miles

i'll second that emotion; the carpet bomb 12" is a fantastic piece of vinyl (shout out to doren for sending it over!), main cut is a bit of an epic, collapsing deconstructed rhythms that evolve and mutate constantly until out of nowhere a fluid liquid funky bass line appears in league with some evocative moog trickery was spinning out last night (in between 2 very linear drum n bass dj's (zzzzzzzz.....)) and dropped the carpet bomb 12" in a set including old acr stuff ('guess who' remix), model 500 - 'the chase', buckfunk 3000 remix on dot, a mad mad moog record on new mo wax offshoot 'nickelbag' & heaven 17's 'decline of the west'(thanks to the people on the list who inspired me to dig this out through the 'roots of idm' discussion - beautiful record) and...btw - my 2p on the dropbeat stuff, haven't heard the rest of em, but i thought the chessie 7" was well smart, augustus pablo meets 3rd eye foundation off for a kip stuart @ 4thworld -- http://dialspace.dial.pipex.com/4thworld/ check the 'propoganda' page - interviews + features on black dog/ as one/ musik aus strom / jimpster / compost / irdial + more
