Various Artists - SOUND INFORMATION COLLECTION Echo Beach Serious Classics #5 (EB010/EBSC005) Track listing: 1. Sounds from the Ground - Planet 2. Harpy - Lend Me Your Clothes Please Mary 3. Lone Gunman - Glitch 4. Sounds from the Ground - Treasure 5. Butterfly - Shell Like 6. Sounds from the Ground - Mineral 7. Lone Gunman - Partical Beam 8. Harpy - This is My Heaven 9. Dupont - Axminster 10. Path - Seahorse (Journey) 11. Lone Gunman - Noodles 12. Path vs. Spacehead - Neptune (Remix) 13. Sounds from the Ground - Central This is a great collection of ambient dub in the vein of Beyond, Waveform, Universal Egg, Different Drummer, etc. I got my copy for CHEAP through Dave at EAR/Rational. There is also a compilation on the Sound Information label proper; I'm pretty sure the track listing is different for that one. This is a good time to mention that I just got a mail-order catalog from Echo Beach in Germany, and it's a nice one. They specialize in all kinds of dub, including the labels I mentioned above plus On-U Sound, Pressure Sounds, Blood & Fire, Warp, Incoming, and many others. The text is all in German but you can figure out most of the pertinent details and I bet you'll find some cool things you never knew existed. You can e-mail them for a catalog at 100333.3504@compuserve.com, or check out their web site at http://www.dunzwolff.de/users/echobeach/ebhome.html. -- Mark Turner mturner@netcom.com
