I know the Orb can be ambient, but this show was not. The Musicians The infamous Dr. Paterson did not appear to be present. Some guy Andy with Aphex hair was on the mixing console and effects processors, some nameless guy (I don't follow the Orb closely) was spinning some tracks, and someone else was playing with the lighting (which along with the three screens was excellent). Gee, no one playing percussion or keys. Pissed me off at first but the music was great so I let it go. The Music All tracks were very danceable, most with a killer bass groove. They didn't play anything old and they didn't play Toxygene or Teste (the only two new tracks I know, courtesy of Amp). For all I know it could have all been brand new tracks except for the disco and jazz mixed in (yes, orb used disco and jazz tracks). I almost think these guys were ringers. They used a lot of stuff off of ADAT, but one off but then corrected loop (clean enough to where the average person didn't even stop dancing) showed that they were working for there money. They played for about an hour and a half. No Chemical Brothers, and thank someone. They would have killed a night of great music. They weren't expected but the DJ's listed weren't the ones that showed up. These poor guys trying to read a New Orleans crowd at 9~11 P.M. when most of us aren't ready to go until after midnight. I can't believe nobody's addressed this - "Teste" is the name of a band on Probe Records. Their video "The Wipe" was incorrectly credited to the Orb on Amp recently. No wonder, then, that the Orb didn't play the track. C. -- C.Hilker (cspot@hyperreal.com) "He was mesmerized by the light-pictures, and the music sent him right into dreamland"

Well, at mtv.com, there is a movie clip labeled "teste" by the orb. This was in the AMP section. there at least, it is mislabeled. not like it matters much anyway. kmd BTW, I am resuming my search for V/A:synoptics on reflective records. Is there anyone out there who has seen a copy (Aaron Michelson?)? It would be rather nice if I could get it for under 25-30$. I am getting so frustrated......
