There is a curious pair of CD's on Priority Records -- Electro Funk Volume
1 and 2. Volume 1 leads of with 'Planet Rock' and Volume 2 leads off
with 'Clear' by Cybotron.
Priority Record P2 53115 is volume II -- I don't have volume one
in front of me to give the cat #. These came out last year. They
have some cheesy cuts on them, but several good tracks, and seem to me
to provide some context to the whole electro thing.
I'd love to have some of the 2 Live Crew records without the excremental
rapping over the top. Luther may have a world class potty mouth but
he knows his beats.
They're playing a Electro cut on B96 in Chicago -- something called
"Freak Nasty" or some such -- much sexual innuendo over a classic 808
beat.
