for some reason finding myself on the ECM website, i was surprised to see a handful of releases from the Rune Grammofon label in ECM's "New" section. more surprised was i to find a link to the RG website in ECM's links section describing RG as an "ECM-affiliated label." can anybody shed any light on what connects these two labels? sc --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

From the Rune Grammofon site regarding Supersilent 1-3: "Over 3 hours totally improvised deathjazzambientavant-rock from new limitstretching quartet featuring members and ex-members from Terje Rypdal Skywards..." Although looking at the credits for said Rypdal album on ECM's site I don't see the names of any members of Supesilent listed. Maybe they only performed in Rypdal's touring band. Arve Henriksen, trumpet player for Supersilent, also appears on Christian Wallumrd Trio - No Birch (ECM 1628). Andrei On Sun, 20 Feb 2000, Sean Cooper wrote:

i guess i meant more in terms of business operations. is rune grammofon funded by ecm? does ecm distribute them? have they "partnered" in a sort of kindred-spirit scenario? that sort of thing... sc --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
