I just picked this album up today when really I should have saved my money to see the 'Empire Strikes Back' tomorrow. But I can't stop this cd buying addiction! I must say this is a pretty kewl album. The Coldcut mix cd is better their work on Coldcut 'Journey by DJ' cuz they don't try to mix too many different style together. And the DJ Krush mix cd contains mostly material from DJ Vadim and London Funk Allstar. Its more on the 'hip hop' style, but its still kewl cuz its not like annoying gangsta style hip hop. All and all, this is a good purchase, althought I still am gonna miss the premiere of 'Empire Strikes Back' tomorrow :( AtL-5

Anyone heard the plaid remix on the dee lite remix lp/cd? It isn't avail. on the US domestic cd but is on the US domestic lp. Question is: is it any good? are there any other tracks on the lp that are good? or just the plaid one or none at all? thanks...

As far as I can tell, they're up and running over here. I snagged this disc for $16 last week, and have been waiting the proper moment to listen to it. Well, the disc should already be out in the US by now. Maybe you should bug your local cd shop to order it. Ninja tune has an north american head-quarter local in Montreal (Canada) and I live in Toronto, so that is probably why I can find their stuff pretty easy here. As for the DJ Food 'Refried Food', I picked that up like last year in May. My Hypothesis on why stuff get to the US so late is because Canada has a better relationship with the UK than the US, So our imports arrive earlier. But don't quote me on it, its just a guess. AtL-5

We released the domestic version on the same day as the UK office. All our distribution is handled by Caroline and also sub-distributed by Pulse Soniq. Pester your record stores to stock the cheaper version (hint:we don't do things like change the artwork. The only difference on ColdKrushCuts is the barcode and the adress. Hence you may have seen it and not realised it wasn't the UK version). As far as Re-Fried Food on Instinct/Shadow. We still owed them one more record on our contract with them. This is the last Ninja release that will come out thru them. See Ya Ninjas

As it's all older Ninja 12"s for the most part we had no plans of releasing vinyl. However, we have a licensing deal in Japan with Toys Factory and I believe they are going to do a vinyl version. I suspect we will buy a bunch of them to distribute for the rest of the world. It will be very limited. See Ya Ninjas

Yes indeed! After hearing it over again a few times, I must say that the Journey by DJ is indeed the more superior album, even though I still don't like the part where it goes 'I think people should worship people...' Ps. can i just rave about this a little bit? the coldcut mixed CD ("coldcut & dj food fight") is another one of those mini-masterpieces that those ninja boys crank out. if you liked the journeys by dj (and who didn't), this is another must-have. i particularly like how they can take a track that i am well sick of ("get your head down" by luke vibert) and mix it up enough so that it becomes interesting listening yet again. i also love how they pick the absolute perfect samples to bridge their transitions... right before the first mad jungle track there's a guy saying "I think they're learning how to fly..." "Fly?" "yeah, FLY!" then wham... amen break. i'm not as wild about the dj krush CD. it's good, but just not in the same league as the other disc. as the whole 2CD set only cost $12, it's worth getting anyway!
