See... I'm no friend of the new government, but just because we don't have a
new government it doesn't mean everybody suddenly went about-face,
ideologically, politically or whatever... all we've gotten until now were new
ministers, and that's just a few persons; the people below them haven't
changed and aren't likely to change much, and we're still a part of the
European Union which means we can't just do anything we please...
Also, if anybody was installed, it was Wolfgang Schuessel (which until then
has been our foreign minister and vice-counsellor), not Joerg Haider, who
still is only the head of Kaernten (Carinthia) and leader of the FPOE, but not
Austria's new chief-cheese; heck, our new minister of economics even got
thrown out of the FPOE because of massive differences with Haider, and even
though he came back now, it was more to get into office than to go with
Haiders views - they're already clashing again... :)
Also, the FPOE is the party that came 3rd place in the last elections, and
mostly so because people had some gripes with the SPOE and wanted to show
them; but instead of casting an invalid vote, they voted for the FPOE... yes,
it can't get any more stupid than that, but that sadly is how some people
think around here... and what's even more frightening, if we held re-elections
now, I think there would be many people that'd think that the *sniffle* "poor"
current government was treated badly and would therefore vote for them
again... it'd be better in my opinion to let them do their thing for the next
4 years - if they fuck up, that should be enough of a clue for people to get a
grip, and if they don't... well, they must've been doing something right, but
I guess there'd still be people whining about that...

Well, that's my view, and I voted for the Greens...
