Ok IDM, heres what I just bought from the shop. 1) Jedi Knights - Big Ones EP - Universal Language EV043 A) Catch the Break AA) Big Knockers Fabulous loud bassy summer house music for throwing the windows open wide and annoying the squirrels. Catch the break has a big break beat and horns and strings and such, Big Knockers has an even bigger funky as hell 4/4 beat and little else. May the funk be with you. This record also had an advert for Heard records on the back. The first 3 releases are going to be 1) the ModWheel - Trip To Morocco EP This is Tom Middleton - see an earlier post of mine 2) is going to be by Joshua, who is responsible for what I fondly refer to as the 'crap' mix on The Way/The Deep double pack 3) is going to be by the Horn, and is called the pink (purple?) sticker EP. 2) Metamatics - EP4 - clear Kind of Dr rockit-ish chirpy stacatto smooth funky electroid sounds very much in a clear style. Nice. 3) Photek - Ni ten Icy something or other - Science Sharp and clattering metallic and jagged breaks. Photek can do no wrong in my book, and this is no exception. I also heard a new single from tranquility bass on the radio last night, from the album 'Let the Freak Flag fly' (Astralwerks). It was way out there. A live sounding break, loads of horns noodling away in random directions, lots of bizarre vocal samples going off all over the place. Very long, and very dense. Epic. (though not as good as either Cantamilla, or They came in peace, but then I hate it when my favourite bands progress :) Cheers Andrew C.

What annoys me is that GC have somehow taken a step backwards and started making House music!!!! What the 'f' is going on? I thought they were leading us somewhere but, er, what's happened? All of a sudden...here's your four to the floor beat, some chords, nice. When are people gonna realise that nearly *all* house music is completely and totally formulaic and most times constructed within a half hourly tea break in the studio. -- Ben Coffer Hybrid Productions http://www.hybridgame.demon.co.uk/

hold it down, this album is gonna blow the fucking lid off everything...a mixmash of the last 20 years of popular music, thrown together inna psychedelic stylee ala the beatles/stones/pink floyd...if the beatles stayed together and took better drugs, this is the album they would make in 1997. Epic is the word -- keep your ears peeled. mb
