Hello What do people think of the new Gentle People single 'Emotion Heater'? I liked it, but not as much as 'Journey' which I thought was quite intense when I first heard it. THe best bits of the new single are part three of the instrumental and a Luke Vibert remix. The Luke Vibert remix is totally in the plug mode, a cut and paste remix of the original track. It sounds as if the Gentle People themselves record in this manner- playing a live jam and cutting and pasting the best bits together with a sampler perhaps? Also, has anyone else as well as GMerchan@gnn.com (Gonzalo Merchan) found kinesthesia 'empathy box' yet? I have not been able to find it yet. Regards, RDW

I actually heven't seen the new Gentle People anywhere, but have seen/heard the _Empathy Box_ album. It's really gorgeous, with lots of Jeffs' lullabye-like beatless compositions, but I was surprised as the album is mostly beatless. And the album version of "Flicklife" is almost identical to the Cylob mix on the remix EP. Regarding Vibert, there's a new Plug remix of Jammin Unit's "Totally Unintelligent" on Rising High which is, as expected, brilliant. The jazz fusion continues.... - Matthew

kinesthesia 'empathy box' yet? Yes, I bought it yesterday in Los Angeles. I like it. Andrew

If you're in the San Fran/East bay area, Rasputine's had a white vinyl copy of this last weekend. You'll have to dig through all their (utterly disorganized) new stuff racks, though. Also, many thanks to those who sent me Depth Charge recommendations. I think I'll be picking up "Nine Deadly Venoms" soon. Anyone here have a strong opinion on the Gentle People record? A respectable freind of mine really digs it, but I still don't completely trust him. What's it like?
