A complete discography is: - Miel Nub Hiel (sp?) on ??? Records - En Cielo de Oceano LP/CD - Elefant Records - Paisajes III LP/CD - Elefant Records - Avolovara 7" - Elefant Records - Galax Trax - 12" EP - Elefant Records - Delay Tambor - CD - Elefant Records Elefant is a Spanish label. "En Cielo de Oceano" is more indie - rather Cocteau Twins / Slowdive-like. Quite poppy in a way. It has a strange baroque feel to it. I always somehow get the impression of a chamber orchestra in a 18th century Spanish palace! "Paisaje III" moves on into 5-EP Slowdive / Seefeel / EoST territory. More "techno" in style but retaining a shoegazy guitar feel and that baroque feel. Probably the best place for starters. The Avolovara 7" is a re-working of a song from Paisaje III (I don't know who by) and an exclusive track. An NME review said something about the sound of icicles or something like that. Clear vinyl. The "Galax Trax" 12" contains remixes by Vanguard, Prozack, Locust & Silvania thmselves. "Delay Tambor" is a whole CD of remixes by Scorn, Seefeel, Locust, Scanner and Autechre. Also contains 3 Silvania originals. The tracks are: 01: Eesal 02: Ov : Locust mx 03: Ry I : Scorn mx 04: 3lc : Seefeel mx 05: ArAng : Scanner mx 06: Bengala 07: LBelm : Autechre mx 08: Arqueopteryx Most of the songs are from "En Cielo de Oceano" (Ov = Oval, 3lc = Trilce, ArAng = Arcangel, LBelm = Un bosque en la memoria) with one from "Paisaje III" (Ry I = Raymi I). The others are the new Silvania songs. The cover versions are supposed to be radically different versions than they appeared on the original discs. Silvania records tend to be notoriously difficult to find. Your best bet is probably Claire de Leon! (http://grove.ufl.edu/~eleven/) in the US or maybe Parasol. With apologies to the people whose messages I cobbled together for the basis of this one. Robin

Well, Silvania are a Spanish band. They started off sounding exactly like a Spanish Slowdive but have become more electronic. They released an album called Passaje III which is supposed to be fantastic and very much along the lines of Seefeel Quique era. I havn't heard it yet but I mail ordered it a while ago and expect to get it this week. They also released a remix album of songs from Passeje III that are remixed by Autechre and a bunch of other really big names (I just can't remember who they are right now). They're stuff is really hard to find unless you live in Spain but if you're interested drop me a line and I can give you the email address of the guy I mail ordered it from. Andrew
