i picked up a 12" -- don't remember where -- and now am desperately seeking further info on the artist/label. the artist (i think) is Glimmer of Dope, the 12" is called "Son of the Funk Bump: Part I," with a-side track "glimmer of dope theme" and other side "love lost." other info: written & produced bu daum bentley, executive producers andy + toro. the label is oxygen music works. does anyone have any further info? thanks, loudgrl

Daum Bentley also records under the name Freaky Chakra. There are two Freaky Chakra projects on Astralwerks, one in combination with Single Cell Orchestra. He's had a 12" on Exist Dance under that name as well and he's done a few remixes. Oxygen Music Works is based in New York and run by Andy Shih. Theimprint specializes in house and funky electronica; it's also the U.S. label for Riz Maslen's small fish with spine work. Andy's E-mail, last time I checked, was ecg@interport.net.

correct about the email. but stylistically omw is pretty diverse. i just put together a promo-only megamix of recent stuff on the label; here's an overview: cutchemist - coldcut-style hip hop samplemania t-love - female rapper glimmer of dope - downtempo space funk with vocoder lo phat hi fi - slow breakbeat and spacey 303, very trancy small fish with spine - remix by the herbaliser, space-hop??? mantronix - wicked new electro jam by one of the masters bass kittens - new electro thing i wrote specially for the tape dj hz - experimental techno jungle melting pot - more experimental jungle elements of life - slow melodic hip hop thing not a lot of house or funky breaks in that bunch...
