Anyone know anything about the above name - I know he's a producer from Amsterdam, does a lot of dub in the traditional style (i.e. not the cheezy digital sounding "club meets dub" stuff, more in a roots Tubby/Scientist style) - he's had a couple albums out on vinyl, and I always hear people I respect giving this guy props - Mixmaster Morris and Tomas @ XLR8R have both praised his work - but I never seem to see much info on his work or anywhere that carries his records. Just fishing on this one, would like to pick some of his music up but I'm at a loss...Brock ______________ Brock Phillips Motormouthmedia 2525 Hyperion Ave. Suite One Los Angeles, CA 90027 fon 323.662.3865 fax 323.662.3844 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Twilight Circus (aka Twilight Circus Sound System aka Twilight Circus Dub Sound System) is the one-man project of Ryan Moore, a guy originally from Vancouver and now based in the Netherlands. His "day job" is bassist for the Legendary Pink Dots, and he's worked with a lot of other folks as well - he did tons of studio work in Vancouver and appears on a lot of releases on Nettwerk Records. You're right about his material being very firmly rooted in the traditional dub stylee. His discography looks something like this... "In Dub Vol. 1" LP/CD (1995/1999) "Other Worlds of Dub" CD (1996) "UK Steppers" 12" (1997) - includes Sly Dunbar on drums "Bin Shaker Dub" CD (1997) "Dub Plate Selection" CD (1998) "Horsie" CD (1999) "Dub Plates Vol. 2" LP (1999) All releases are on Moore's own M Records label, and any that are in print should be avauilable via Soleilmoon (www.soleilmoon.com). Many releases include hand-drawn covers and other nifty personal touches. Also add : Muslimgauze - Mort Aux Vaches CD (Staalplaat 1998) Moore played bass on this live recording. The recording also featured Werner Durand and of course, Bryn Jones. A stunning release. About 53 min. long and based on one of the records in the Tandoori Dog 4 LP box set. -daniel: Head Monkey: Mad Monkey Records: http://www.madmonkey.org --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Twilight Circus Dub Sound System is the work of one Ryan Moore, of Legendary Pink Dots fame, with whom he plays drums and bass. Unbelievably good stuff, most highly recommended.. very drummy, amazing basslines, funky as all hell. Id most recommend his horsey album, which is the most recent and in my opinion his best work yet, and all the cover art is 'one of a kind'. Check out http://www.twilightcircus.com/ for ordering info.. and he is tentatively planned to tour this year with Download, the Tear Garden, the Legendary Pink Dots, and PlateaU. good stuff. ja

It's Ryan Moore, a Canadian living in Amsterdam. He was/is a member of The Legendary Pink Dots and has worked with Skinny Puppy and Download. I saw him warming up for Download in Gothenburg, Sweden a few years ago and it was awesome. Check out http://www.twilightcircus.com/ for more. --- "Brock @ Motormouthmedia" <bmotor@pacbell.net> wrote:
