I don't have nearly as much to say as you did, other than the fact that I thought the new Pumpkins track ("Eye", avail on "Lost Highway") was brilliant. Yes, all rock music has suddenly become boring, but I found the last SP album (Mellon Collie) to be more than interesting, and I think Corgan has continued that with the new song. It may not be the best electronic song ever written, but I find it a lot easier to listen to than U2... (BTW, that makes two songs on the "Lost Highway" soundtrack following this so-called new trend: "The Perfect Drug", and "Eye". Anyone else find that weird?) +-------------------------+-------------------------------------+ | Ryan Visima | richard d james: aphex twin | | rvisima@astral.magic.ca | http://www.magic.ca/~rvisima/aphex/ | +-------------------------+----------------+--------------------+ | nine inch nails: the art of self destruction |Performa 6320CD | | http://www.magic.ca/~rvisima/nin/ |48MB/1.2GB/4xCD | +----------------------------------------------+----------------+

I thought it was pretty decent in a "here's our best Depeche Mode imitation" kind of way. I don't have a lot of experience with drum'n'bass (limited to Plug, Squarepusher, Spring Heel Jack, some new Aphex Twin and _Breakbeat_Science_ comp really), but thing that sets the NIN track "Perfect Drug" apart from anything I've heard from the aforementioned is the way many of the breaks are made up of clipped percussion samples rather than sped-up ones, and I think it works great. As a whole, the song is not ideal, but it's enjoyable enough. -- Adam J Weitzman "Getting [your computer] to work is no more Individual, Inc. difficult than building a nuclear reactor weitzman@individual.com from wristwatch parts using only your teeth." http://www.individual.com - Dave Barry

I agree this is the best part of a lame song but Squarepusher did it 10000000000 times better on "North Circular" from Feed Me Weird Things, didn't he? Howie
