man, i love that movie. i think you have to have an appreciation for and a
bit of back knowledge about the monkees to fully appreciate it and what
it's trying to say, though. i would venture to say that the three worst
movies i have ever seen are:
1. bottle rocket (done by film students at my school; i would have walked
out on the free screening (making it the first movie i would have ever
walked out on) but the directors were there, so i sat through the whole
blasted thing)
2. psych-out (i think that's what it's called - 1969 movie with jack
nicholson, don't get me wrong, i love movies from this period, but much of
this film was stinky)
3. the valley of the dolls (i rented the wrong one; *beyond* ~ is the one
that roger ebert wrote, right?) anyway, the book was so much more
entertaining
and i can't forget how bad the scores of 80's tit-exploitation (oh, i mean
teen-exploitation) films i watched in junior high on pirated hbo were
-
kinda ambient, kinda idm content:
speaking of ian pulley, is he a part of pino & wildjammin (whole traffic,
ms-series, etc.)? i was told this by a friend and i just want to know for
sure, cuz i love his/their/whatever fax stuff.
as for u-ziq, urmar bile trax or whatever is ending up grabbing my
attention as much as, oh, that red ep with the hockey player on it did -
not much. i notice neat little things in it here and there, but something
about it just doesn't click with me (maybe it's the bass that's mixed
waaaaay too loud?) *shrug*
