No, VJ doesn't stand for a Vibert & Jenkinson secret collaboration ;) Shortly, I'm sure one of you guys is meddling with live video mixing and the sorts, what does it take equipmentwise to start practicing at home? I know it's not a lot of IDM in content so please reply private. Also so far I noticed that as far as video technology goes it only went through the sampler stage and never got around to making a video synth. I mean all effects and the likes are made on 'sampled' video, I don't know of a tool that is solely for generation of images. I know a computer will qualify but I don't know of one dedicated to the creation of images.... what I have in mind is some sort of a box with a screen and a lot of knobs to twiddle; Am I daydreaming or are there people doing it already somewhere out there? Regards, Snow.

With the peril of going seriously off-topic (subsequent flames to trerra@uta.fi, please), I send this one to the list too, since I think this is a topic worth discussing. I think there was a story in a recent Muzik or Mixmag (sorry, I always get 'em, erm, mixed-up ;) on "visual DJs"; among all the Hex posse (of Coldut/Ninja Tune fame) was mentioned. I suggest you find this one in your hands.
