I'm trying to see if my record shop can get Boards of Canada for me. Would someone be so kind as to give the skam catalog no. for it? And while we're at it... is there a skam discography? Greetings list; I'm planning to do a technical speech/presentation on the Boards of Canada. I plan to hit on their background, and move towards their music, mainly their styles and use of melody to trigger feelings in the listener, and how they accomplish that, along with their methods of production. I have received a good deal of information from the Boards of Canada website, mostly about their history, and a few of their personal motivations. I'm looking for some listener responses, hopefully from those who can say more than "oh, it's good", and may have some knowledge about musical techniques that they can apply to Boards of Canada's melodic and rhythmic parts of their music. Similarly, I would appreciate any links or URL's to interviews with Michael and Marcus, and *possibly* any worthwhile reviews that aren't linked from the Boards of Canada homepage-website. I'm hoping that, since there is a great abundance of knowledge and musical experience on the list (you know who you are...), there will be at least a few who are very familiar with Boards of Canada's history, of which is a little more obscure than their webpage discusses. I'm also hoping that there will be at least a few who are familiar with Boards of Canada's melodic and rhythmic processes, and can be a testament towards their work, the effects their work either possesses or attains to hold, and possibly even a short explanation of how it works. If you feel like you could help, I would be extremely appreciative if you could reply to either me, personally, at the above email, or to the list. I'm sure that there can be a lot of discussion on the matter. I do have knowledge of music and techniques, so you don't have to walk me through everything you say. Similarly, I own Music Has The Right To Children, have a Cd-r copy of Twoism and Hi Scores, and have the Surfaise-Trade Winds remix off the Demon 1 EP, Orange Romeda off WAP 100, and the Vegetarian Soup remix off the Prime Audio Soup EP. So feel free to make references to all of that, as I'm familiar with it and can apply almost all of it. Thanks in advance for reading through, and I hope I'll have plenty of help. I hope it contained enough IDM content to avoid flaming :O) Thanks again, -Derek
