Now that Mille Plateaux with their, may i say, very shrewd, understanding of the way the market shifts (performance = perception), have released the 'best ever glitch' compilation, just hope people will continute to check shit at grass roots level rather than wait for big daddy moneybags to extending the slimy tentacles of licensing and produce a nice shiny package to be placed in a Tower Records listening post Best 'digital playtime' disk i've heard recently is from a label based in Barcelona called Alku (http://www.alku.jat), CD-R affair, AFAIK they only produce 50 or so per release and give them away to anyone who asks thus, tho i could be wrong;-), i think they've had some stuff released on Megos' 'Falch' (or however one spells it) internet only thang as well, Alku CD i have is by Opopop, titled 'Justicia Digital' (1-18) Err..while i am on ze high horse, a beef i have with this list is the lack of posting about live shows, you know like real shit, people interacting, surely IMD'ers must take their dicks out of the floppy drive once in a while and get out the front door? IMO the best music being made at the moment is neither being recorded nor sold, is it viable to talk about such a concept on this list or if one cannot sell it, then can one not talk or write about it? Mmmmm..pass the dust Plato Yrs _>>>____Doktor Barnes Advocaat (6'3") ICQ #60493625 ____________________________ http://www.onoksid.freeserve.co.uk --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I think live reviews are well on-topic, and I've seen them posted in the past. I'm guessing that discussion of live events might be minimal since they tend to be very localized, so unlike a record that everyone can by, very few people are able to offer an opinion on a particular event. But please, go ahead and write about 'em!
