One of my favorite records of late has been the album by french group
Motorbass entitled "Pansoul". It is one of the great house records of all
time, and I don't much care for most of what passes for "house". It came out
late last year on Different Recordings (DIF 001 CD). Philippe from Motorbass
also cuts wax with La Funk Mob, another fine French outfit. Motorbass also
cut a seminal dbl. ep for Mo'Wax not long ago. This CD pumps... and there
are at least 1-2 remix "12's from the album at present. You should also look
into some of the releases on Pork Recordings... Filia Brazilia being one
that springs to mind. Maybe someone could enlighten us with their Pork
favorites? I have heard lots I enjoyed but am hard pressed to name any right
now...
