Why do I read so less about Steve Pickton (Stasis) on this list? Anyone heard 'Moon Bong' on his latest album 'Fromtheoldtothenew'? Or his releases under the monicker of Paul W. Teebrooke? And am I the only one, which finds his 'Unexplained' as Phenomya one of the typical highlights in idm-history? Cut the crap! (he Otto :) and back to music! ¤ ¤ house + electro = techno ¤ ¤ np. i posted a review of Pickton's Other World Collective (Peacefrog) 12" a while back, but it didn't generate much of a response. but i see that the Wallstar - "Gurnigan" 12" which i reviewed is Colin & Malka @ ~Swim's #1 record of '96. so suddenly i don't feel so alone. :) i'm preparing a brief post about the utterly fabulous "Sounds of Stasis" 12" on Multiplex. maybe a few words about _fromtheold..._, too. that album's just such a classic. I have both of Inspiration and From the old to the new. I like them both. I was talking about him a few months ago

I have this on hold. I can't wait to get it, I heard it is a little jazzy along the lines of Innerzone Orchestra - Bug in the Bassbin

Actually, a while back a lot of us were raving about the Objet d'Art comp. which features Phenomya. I heard that he has a new Stasis single and he also has his own label. I am interested in him, I am sure there are a lot of other people that are as well. William Samuels

I dunno why Stasis doesn't appear more often on this list... But I do know that he has released a lot of naughty stuff, check Stasis on Likemind :-) Fredric

Steve Pickton's genius is not overlooked by me. I own Fromtheoldtothenew lp, Unexplained lp, the Redcell/Stasis split lp, the Teebrooke 12"s & the otherworld collective 12" and I treasure each of those releases. I also just picked up a new Stasis 12" on the Multiplex label that's quite. Check it out, you won't be disappointed. -->-Lance--- p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states

No me too. Well! let's analyse.. Stasis: Peacefrog, Multiplex, Mo Wax, B12, Likemind, R&S, Shield Paul W. Teebrooke: Otherworld Recordings, Op-Art Records Phenomya: Art, Otherworld Recordings Seems like a complete discography already. Forget the label of his first release, right now. And of course the Kape Ill Musier (together with Mark Broom) releases on A13!! Greets! g_n_z (deeply in 'gonzi'transpotting mode!)

Your guess is as good as mine.

The Op-Art 12 is enchanting - Techno-dance done right for a change.

The LP didn't particularly thrill me, but anyone who doesn't own 'Travellor (Reprise)' is missing out on something beautiful. His best track was released on Likemind Records. 'Artifax' is too good for words. Circuit Funk is also amazing, the B12 material well worth seeking out too. I haven't even heard 'Inspiration', never mind the new LP - one of those things I just haven't got round to - you may throw rotten fruit at me now! On Now? A to B (Coat Mix) - Geotrax / Click / Drag
