Dunno if the Dutch actually invented the style, but it was a dutch guy that
came up with the word Gabber. He used to work in one of Amsterdam's record
stores, and made the observation one day that all these guys who came in to
buy hardcore techno all called each other "gabber", which is slang for
something like "mate" ("hey gabber, nog naar die parrrtie gewees?"), and
said something to the effect "hardcore? gabber music, more like!". The rest
is history.

Eddie Flashin' Fowlkes, and I think the first couple of Kraftwerk records
suck. Do I get excommunicated now?
