A friend of mine was telling me about a comp he once saw called FREESTYLE CANDIES on the KLANG ELEKTRONIK label. He said it featured tracks by Mouse on Mars, Black Dog and Global Comm amongst others. ::: Various ::: Freestyle Candies ::: Klang Elektronik 01 acid jesus: radium 02 alter ego: tanks ahead (black dog mix) 03 sensorama: ventil (q-mutator mix by mouse on mars) 04 roman four: algorhythmus 05 phillip boa and the voodooclub: deep in velvet (acid jesus tickets and tones mix) 06 ro70: alma 07 eight miles high: flow chart 08 david holmes: gone (alter ego decoding gone part two) 09 warp69: natural high (global communication remix) 10 sven vath: harlequin plays bells (alter ego hells bells mix) 11 supreme truth: the supreme truth (eight miles high dub mix) 12 eight miles high: artgallery it's a very good ambientish but not mindblowing compilation the black dog mix is a nice low key thing, oddly enough it's the sven vath track that stands out for me I think. klang elektronik is a top little label btw, been very quiet recently. packaging on the freestyle candies is ace btw it's a sawn off 5 1/4" floppy witth the cd bunged in. In other words, it's very like Blue Monday, but without the coloured bits. Where is Peter Saville these days anyway? On LastNight: Alt.Frequencies - some mighty fine tunes and the CD is a nice yellowy/green colour, Gescom, Freeform and Jenkinson tracks particularly good Also, a trip into the Einsturzende Neubauten 'found instrument' cellar in Berlin on Mixing It. adam
