As a long-time IDM-list reader, surfacing for occasional active modes but mostly hanging in digest-netherworld these days, I will offer the following comments:
- complaining about how posting quality sucks only adds to the quantity of postings that suck
- the huffy "i quit the idm list forever, goodbye!" posts are really, really funny
- the "how tall are you?" thread, while seemingly alarmingly off-topic, fulfills the need for the occasional light-hearted off-topic posting chain that somehow clicks and adds a touch of humanity to all the robots on this list
- content: to respond to someone's query about fila brazillia a few days ago, yes, they have left pork to form own label (first known as tritone, now known as twentythree) but the split is amicable
- spamming: most on this list "spam" now and again, be it mp3 aggrandizing, radio playlists, zine promo, tedious sale/trade lists, and other enjoyable crapola. My rule is: occasional spam is fine, even encouraged if it is "good spam" - but please, don't JUST spam all the time....try to provide genuine content occasionally, the kind that is not self-promotion.
