I don't know who put out the original request, but here is a plug for some CDs, not quite like (or unlike) Orbital's output. You know the old saying, "If you like (Orbital), you'll *love* ______ . Torch Song - Towards the Unknown Region and William Orbit/Strange Cargo - III --t p.s. I for one don't appreciate repeated plays of videos on AMP, but on the other hand, I never thought I'd see Aphex Twin on MTV!

Aphex Twin even played live on MTV europe.... - Hary J Walsh It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare; it is because we do not dare that they are difficult. -Seneca

And to think that some members of this list had the nerve to suggest that Orbital were just a token techno band for the MTV generation and not worthy of proper IDM consideration. A more ignorant point of view you won't find. .+'''+. mark@sonance.demon.co.uk M A R K http://www.netlink.co.uk/users/sonance/ `+.,.+' http://www.sonance.demon.co.uk/

I've seen this occur before. I was well into grungy guitar music, ever before Grunge really became an accepted label for it. I saw Nirvana support Sonic Youth at a gig of 250 people about 2 months before Bleach came out. They made a good impression on the local music scene, and Bleach was very popular. As soon as smells like teen spirit came along, everyone started talking about how crap nirvana were etc.. all the muzos started to get deeped and deeper into obscurer music. I guess some people need their individuality confirmed in their tastes and expression, which is fair enough. - Hary J Walsh It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare; it is because we do not dare that they are difficult. -Seneca
