Sinatra a genius? I guess he has some musical talent. "Genius" is a difficult word to define, though. I hear U2's new single "Discoteque" is a d&b track. Bandwagon jumpers. Where did you ever get that impression? I think the thing about Ireland and U2 is that we as a country are normally viewed as backward and quaint. We cling to any proclomation of anything otherwise. Like the dreaded Eurovision Song Contest. - Hary J Walsh It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare; it is because we do not dare that they are difficult. -Seneca

Yep...esentially. Not really bandwagon though...listen to the last album. U2 has had ideas like this for a while. Kelly

You don't know how often I have to put up with comments like that. Not to mention his music. I currently live in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, NY. If it's not immediatly familiar to you, it's where most of Saturday Night Fever was filmed. Needless to say there are a LOT of Frank fans out here, it's just that kinda place, underlying Mob connections here and there - you get the picture. I can appreciate that the man had a talent that some people appreciate. He is hardly a genius though. Personally I can't stand his music - my opinion.

I saw the video yesterday on MTV while I was at work. Who's current gimmick is to play "U2 A-Z". Essentially playing EVERY video they have EVER produced - that includes all the different versions. I think I heard ONE 4 times yesterday. Now I know why I don't have cable at home. I was a fan of theirs from waaaaayyy back in the early 80's before most people had heard them. I was really hating that Cowboy Western thing they started getting into with the Joshua Tree. I can only say that (thanx to Brian Eno) I liked the direction they took on their last album. This new one.... Ehhhhh I need time. If this is the best track they have to offer, I don't think I will be buying it. I would rather get some of the old stuff I don't have. No they're not Saint's. Bono has been a bit odd over the past few years though. Did he wack his head REALLY hard? Eat the Brown Acid (comedic reference - see Woodstock) Something stranger? Eric

I kinda agree with you on this one, although I can see some really nice remixes coming out of this song. The part of the song where there is a brief pause and they lightly touch on a drum n bass beat sounded good. if they get a good producer to capitalize on that sound, they'll have a great track for sure. -lloyd ----------------------------- Lloyd Alvarez 3D animator/Designer http://www.shake.com/lloyd/ -----------------------------

It's not. I'm a little disappointed in it. Sounds in some places like a stab at Chemical Brothers, really, but overall, not a whole lot different from their last two CDs, which is a shame. Maybe there are remixes? The new Nine Inch Nails track, however, is another beast altogether. I caught the second half of it in the car last weekend, and there was this *massive* d&b-inspired percussion break in it. It worked very well in the song and I liked it immensely.
