Bantha Trax? Just keep it (and enjoy) for your own bad self!!! My copy still gets some heavy rotation. Don't know about it being hard to find though as I saw a couple copies of it floating around last year. np: Bassbin Twins vs. Skint Records: Two Turntables and a Crate of Skint \|/ @--out----------*--+what-I-got-in-my-head-you-can't-buy-steal-or-borrow /|\ -Primal Scream --Paul p. Anyone know when the Primals are returning? I heard that Andy Weatherall is gonna be giving them production treatment and that we can expect something that is supposed to change our lives like Screamadelica (supposedly) did. robert feugate rfeugate@hawaii.edu

As someone who's mind was blown in a major way by 'Screamadelica' back in '91, I should say that the forthcoming Scream album should not be less than God-like, but somehow I don't hold my breath for that... Especially after the lukewarm follow-up 'Give Out...'; OK, 'Rocks' was a good laugh, but so what? Lightning won't strike twice in the same place as they say. That said, how was the Scream/Weatherall collaboration on 'Trainspotting' soundtrack album? ekku the maintainer of pHinnWeb - everything u ever wanted to know about Finnish techno scene but were too afraid of the reindeer trerra@uta.fi | http://www.uta.fi/~trerra | http://www.sci.fi/~phinnweb * The Best of '96 -> http://www.uta.fi/~trerra/bestof96.html

Perhaps they tried to go the Rock 'n' Roll route, thus "Give Out..." and now they are returning to form, using the formula that chagned the world. 1 part Primals + 1 part Andy Weatherall + a little bit of other people (the orb perhaps?). As for that Trainspotting track--try to track down the Web site (I haven't got the URL handy at the moment) but I believe there is a sample of all the tracks featured on cd. The track is more Weatherall than Primals, so be warned if you are looking for ax wielding madness... :) robert feugate

The new LP is indeed going to be a return to form, Screamadelica 2? Weatherall back to mix with an orb collaberation possible too. The album is due out in March I think. Here's something for ya to chew on: ----------------- EXCERT FROM NME NEWS BRIEF Nov. 16-ish--------------------- Weatherall rejoins scream team. ANDREW WEATHERALL has spoken to NME about his work on the forthcoming new Primal Scream album, due for release early next year. Weatherall is working on one, as-yet untitled, track which he describes as sounding like nothing the band have done before and consequently a big departure from 1994's 'Give Out But Don't Give Up' LP. He said: "It sounds really new, fantastic. It's out there. Bobby's (Gillespie's) vocals go through a vocoder so if I told you it was a Primals track, you'd tell me, 'Go away, you're taking the piss'. I've been playing it down my club (Bloodsugar, at London's Blue Note) and it's been blowing the roof off."
