Bless my wife, who thinks all electronic music sounds like there's something
wrong with the stereo. She got me both volumes of Heads2.
Since Headz2 comprises something like 5 hours of music I may not ever
get around to a full review, and it would likely be not very timely.
But would others of you who have it perhaps share some impressions?
My capsule review: my problem with acid jazz and trip hop in general
is that it can tend to sound like pale imitations of early 70's
easy listening jazz. Since I lived through that period I don't need
to hear it again. Many but not all of the tracks here seem to transcend
that trap, and some are quite good. The occasional junglish tracks are
my favorites. I tend to put a disk on as I do other things rather
than listen intently with the cover in hand, so it's hard to cite
particular artists. But I'm glad I have it...
