i finally tracked down a copy of the mike ink "paroles" remixes on warp.
predictably, i can do without the ink '96 mix, but the tpower mix and
particularly the autechre one are quite good. the latter is, imo, the best
thing autechre has done since that track on _softballetforms_ (which i also
finally picked up on vinyl...wicked one, that), with a seriously fucked up
beat holding together some pretty warped (sorry) sample cut-ups. easily
among their best work. the tpower mix is very unlike his other material
(and still very good), with very little of the synth work he's often
maligned for and the focus on some very sparse but effectively administered
beatwork. the sticker says 33, but both speeds work for me. (as for the
autechre, it's a complete fucking mess at any speed, so i opt for 33 so it
lasts longer ;))
