This is more or less how I feel about de guys.. I don't know if it's about
being 'weird' though. For me, Orbital are great at what they do, and they
have turned so many people on to dance music (Satan Live is in at No.3 in the
UK *NATIONAL* chart), but it won't ever be real techno music to me. I listen
to most of their records and I can't find anything that really turns me on -
no emotion, nothing that makes me happy or sad, no funkiness, no humour. As
a kind of 'bridge' between pop music and the sonic innovators, so people
unfamiliar with techno can dip their toes, I'm all for it, but 808 State did
it long before, and oh, so *much* better..
