Plod - Pillow Talk
surf on over to www.worminterface.com and check this out. Only the first
song (markkinal) is up for mp3 d/l, but it's stunning in the way early
Ae was stunning...reminiscent of incunabula and (though not so much)
amber. It's not old stuff revived, it's just warm and lush in the way
the Ae boys used to be...also, gotta love the WormInterface solution for
mp3s...they come with their own player, so what you're getting is an
.exe file rather than a real mp3...quite nifty, that. I'm getting this
one.
Also, on the website front, check out www.pitchcadet.com. Some great
stuff there, too...especially nice is
Valence "Music for TransNeptunian Space". This is ambient, but more
along the lines of Mixmaster Morris rather than FAX...light, spacey
stuff that really moves. A few of the tracks are listed, so you can get
a nice idea of the album. I think I'm picking this one up, too.
Also at the Pitchcadet site, good listening from Novel 23 "Melodies of
Childhood for Advanced Imagination"...somehow, I think of "music has the
right..." with this title, so that's weird on the old expectations
meter. Anyway, good stuff. In one respect, it does remind me of BoC in
the way they've been able to create their own sound from what could
easily be memories...BoC strikes that chord with me on good
days...beautiful. This isn't as good as Music Has the Right... (and
really, who expects something that good everyday?), but the listen I got
makes me want more...
Before I go through their catalog one by one, go check out
www.pitchcadet.com. Some really cool stuff there. worth the effort.
