I was hesitant to purchase this because of the price-tag,
but now that it sits comfortably in my cd-player, i'm glad
to have been introduced to the future of sonic manipulations
known as the Click + Cuts compilation on Mille Plateaux. I
tend to play this "type" of stuff (Oval, Pansonic, Pole etc)
when i need to relax, read, or just put my mind at ease, but
this compilation encapsulates a wide platform of unique sound
elements that are truly out of this world. I should probably seek
out more of the artists listed on this strong release. CD1 revolve's
around a smooth minimal techno theme with spurts of soothing
ambience while CD2 takes those elements and distorts them
into a more experimental direction. It's not very often that you
get to hear such an assortment of fine artist's on one compilation,
and from the nice reviews i've heard via idm-L, i'm glad to have
picked this up. This compilation is well worth the purchase, and
don't just take my word for it. Check the website for more details

"Clicks + Cuts" is an introduction to the functioning of 21st century
minimalism, the collection of schools of sound to come, and schools
of life to follow. And it sounds first of all promising. >>Sascha Kosch.
Very well put.. and an excellent release to open up the new year!
Pietro.
