Agreed - nothing new here and very little to get excited about. I'd also like strangle those folks recommending the Earthrise Ninja 2 comp -- what a lousy piece of non-substantive crap. You'd think that with two discs, something on it would be good. IMO, there are few people doing this so-called jazzy trip-hop-ish style in the right way. Best to look under V for Vibert.

Just a figure of speech -- didn't intend to make anyone nervous. And no, I don't think everything on Ninja Tune sucks -- precisely why I was so disappointed that Instinct couldn't muster up some of the more inspired tunes.

It's OK, but not at the top of Vibert's game. Everybody has an off day occasionally :-)

Well I guess I'm the one who you want to strangle. I suggested that comp, and guess what? I stand by that recommendation. If you don’t like this one, I guess you must think that everything on Ninja Tune/Ntone sucks royal monkey dicks. Oh well, if you don’t like it, you don’t like it, but no need to talk mad crazy shit. BTW, one of MY favorite Luke Vibert tracks is on Earthrise Ninja 2. The Vibert remix of Extreme Possibilities. Or did you not like that one either? Brock out Ps: I passed on the new DJ Shadow LP. Everyone in the record shop was raving about it, I gave it a quick scan and it didn't catch my fancy. I wouldn't say it was crap, but it really didn't seem as special as everyone had made it out to be, IMHO. NP: Alter Ego - 'decoding the hacker myth'
