It would seem that the BBC has a new employee for making trailers, with a taste for IDM. Someone mentioned Ae's 'Dael' being used. Imagine my surprise hearing (after the lottery on a Saturday evening) in a period of less than five minutes: FSOL/Dead Cities Autechre/Eutow (track 6, the one with the amazing build-up) IDM is being broadcast (in _very_ small snippets) if you know where to look! -- Jameel Syed ______________________________________________________________________________ http://www-students.doc.ic.ac.uk:80/~jas5/ "it was an act of self hypnosis, a deliberate drowning of consciousness by means of rhythmic noise"

I reckon the fact that Jez Nelson (Kiss FM and Jazz FM) DJ now presents on Tomorrows World has something to do with that.

I have seen Mouse On Mars' "Bib" being played on tv's in sports stores and movie theatre foyers all over Adelaide ... The third track from SAW-II disc one was used on an Australian lifestyle program , and on Australia's main radio station triple J , they use various SAW-II tracks as backing for reviews concerning "dark" movies/topics . .: WD :.

I was listening to CBC overnight radio once when coming home late (and only have am radio in my car) where they play radio shows from all over the world. On that nights show they were playing a news show from Sweden and all through one of the documentaries about health care I believe, they were playing stuff from FSOL's Lifeforms. I only wish the CBC would update the theme music and filler music for their radio shows, it's getting quite dated.

a couple of years ago i would have described their sound as fitting in with the acid jazz genre, now i guess the world has moved on and into the trip hop thing. however, considering how melodic, how "busy" without being overloaded these melodies are, i'd like to say it transcends trip hop's tendencies to be somewhat trance like with the repitition, though it could still be called funky as all hell. it is also my opinion that it may be too sophisticated to be classed as such. (ease up kid, the word is: opinion) pick it up it's worth a listen, and it might even move you.
