I'm putting on a free live electronic music show Halloween evening
in Iowa City Iowa. Any of my midwestern good net buddies who would
consider driving over to see us play, floors and couches for crashing
can be arranged.
Who's playing?
Me and my dancing computer (Emergent Behavior)
Mingo (a local MMT8 virtuoso)
Homogenized Terrestrials (Ambient)
DJ Josh Lockey in the Mix.
I'm especially excited about Homogenized Terrestrials (Phil Klampe).
Phil has been putting out tapes of extremely personal, idiosyncratic
ambient music for years. His stuff is along the lines lines of Merzbow,
Rapoon, Scorn, and Zoviet France, but is a world unto itself.
Each of phil's cassettes is exquisitely recorded, and is packaged in
unique folded paper constructions. I bought my first Homogenized
Terrestrials tape because it was a beautiful object in and of itself.
The fact that the music is just as attractive was a bonus.
Phil can be contacted at dpjvbc@theramp.net.
This is his first live gig, and it promises to be an amazing experience.
