Oh great, now IDM seems to have stepped into the ugly world of politics. But I suppose this had to happen sooner or later. Which could take us to a new thread: is there any place for politics or any radical kind of thinking (depending on how everyone defines 'radicalism') or subversity in the world of IDM/techno/ambient and so on? Of course, I can't personally accept hate-mongering towards any nationality or race, but these things just happen around us in 'the real world', where people hate each other for far more bigger reasons than whether one dislikes AFX's or Rephlex's latest release or not. Opinions, anyone? peace (meaning it more than ever), ekku the maintainer of pHinnWeb - everything u ever wanted to know about Finnish techno scene but were too afraid of the reindeer trerra@uta.fi | http://www.uta.fi/~trerra | http://www.sci.fi/~phinnweb you make your own heaven and hell right here on earth

seems to me there's quite a difference between radical politics and the unambiguous hate which decorates musilmgauze's releases...the music is, for the most part, pretty uninspired...I've never completely understoof muslimgauze's relationship with anti-semitism but when it comes to giving money to racist assholes I tend not to throw caution to the wind. pH

Well this is just about the most idiotic way of taking care of problems. I promise you, that if Autechre, instead of doing the "anti Ep" against the CJB, made an ep with a rascist message I wouldn't fucking buy it. no matter how fucking great the music was. in fact, i wouldn't buy any of autechres releases, dunno if i even would buy any warp stuff. the same thing that i don't buy nestl‚ stuff, or any screwdriver records. I mean, it's all about sending signals, and if this muzlimgauze (actually never heard him, but thass pretty irrelevant) really gives away money to racist associations i think it's pretty horrible how people still can say "...the creators beliefs are irrelevant". now that's what i call laziness and apathy. i think you all can manage without "muslimgauze"... fran,z ____franz_enmark_____ --------obackav.11,-- --------903 33 umea,- --------sweden-------
