A Small Good Thing: Cool, Cool Water Soleilmoon Recordings sol 35 cd Cool, Cool Water is an eclectic blend running the gamut of melodic electronic music: shimmering minimal housers to beautifully chilled trip hop and some intelli-jungle. This CD will appeal to the Pork camp on this list. "Steigerville - South" even has those spaghetti western overtones from the last CD including a sampled vocalist who has some similarity to David Thomas (Pere Ubu). "Temperance" is 14:51 of moody ambience. "Burned Clean" is a lovely head-nodding melodious 4/4 instrumental with spiritual overtones and samples --- beautiful. "The Art of Deception" finishes out with that folky twangy ambient guitar stuff for 49 seconds. Every song was nice for me. Very upbeat. 9.5/10 On Now: Lisa Carbon & Friends: Stereococktail The mystery continues. There is the distorted picture of some clubby female on the cover. The credits say "jammed by lisa carbon & friends" and the artwork is "by lisa carbon and pod." The music....hmmmmm.....jazzy, bleepy almost improvisational jams. I'll tell you more later.
