While checking out the "U.S.'s First Jungle Shop", I came across a copy of T Power's new _Waveform_ LP. The attendant said that this was an advance copy laid down by the distributor who had recently visited. Reviewette follows: T Power Waveform life in the freezer a large grey area G13 Purple sunshine blotter bionic chronic inversion boots postcards from pluto splinters stress fractures nilus protocols reality pants refraction G7 fluffy crystalised phat bags CO2 at ripening T Power seems to have spent a lot of time with his bong lately. This albumn listens a lot like an Orb albumn, in that you spend a lot of time asking yourself, "Is that an Oxy 10 commercial in the background?" This albumn has several tidbits devoted to the beatless feedback sessions. A good half of this albumn does not qualify as Drum n' Bass. "Postcards from pluto" has nice cheesy electro sounds that sounds like a Warp release, with some nice background ambience. The real Drum 'n Bass tracks are "Stress Fractures" and "Bionic Chronic". The first features some very nice Old School rhyming. The second is Genius. It is a Building D 'n B track with some nice techno riffs thrown in. "Refraction" is also really nice. Sounds like a combo of LTJ Bukem mixed with material a la "Know Twiddlers". Overall a nice mixture of ambience, d 'n b beats, and cheese techno. Brian
