she also records as neotropic, and has two eps ("tumbleweed" and "landrophonic"), as well as an imminent full-length _18 levels of magnification_ under that name, all on ntone (there's yer coldcut connection). i didn't know about the fsol relation, but i can say some of "tumbleweed" sounds straight off of _lifeforms_. riz also piped in on a long-running discussion of women in ambient music on the ambient list last year with some pretty inspirational comments, and there's a short piece on her in the new urb...nice to finally see her work on a label where it will get the distro it deserves... anyone know what Riz is short for, if anything? sc onnow: mc ade : bass rock express (techno kut)
