Various Artists: Modern Electronics One --------------------------------------- 1995 Subversive Records, Ltd. London Various Artists: Modern Electronics Two --------------------------------------- 1996 Subversive Records, Ltd. London I don't recall seeing these two comps mentioned. Two tasty anthologies of intelligent trance-oriented techno. Older and new cuts, with many of the best names 3-digit-IQ contemporary dance music. High number of good cuts on both comps. The only potential criticism is a certain sameness, but then again, one man's poison is another man's poisson. (Or something like that. Feel free to compose your own variations.) Volume one hits on (ahem) Nail, DJ Skull, Cristian Vogel, Square, Ian Pooley, the Void, and Fumiya Tanaka, among others. Volume two covers Trax-X, Ken Ishii, Laurent Garnier, Scan X, Richard Benson, and others. Komparable Komps: the TEEx and TAEx series. 3
