Whatever happened to these fellows? I love the "Repeats" album, but have not heard of anything since. Their stuff reminds me of the dubby type of Black Dog sound (in fact, the album cover thanks Ed and Andy as the first two on the "thanks" list). Wandering and wondering.. Nowplyng: Ken Ishii-Jelly Tones.. he's really good. -- FreyGuy <Everyday is FreyDay> LAN Administrator Hansen Corporation / A Minebea Group Company /The cold is telling you that you're alive\ \The night is showing you that you're limited/ KevFrey@evansville.net --------- Kfrey@nyx.net

This shouldn't be surprising, given that Repeat are/were Handley, Turner and Broom. I was a bit disappointed with it myself. As you know these fellows are not known for keeping quiet. I think they may have performed live as Repeat a while ago. adam

Repeat's new LP will be out in October, but its anyone's guess on the title. Someone mentioned going to the A13 night in the UK should have got that info from someone, surely. At any rate, you can tell where Ed and Andy guest starred on some of the tracks from the RepeatS LP. I've always known the Repeat lineup to be Mark Broom, Dave Hill, Ed Handley & Andy Turner. UXB is Dave Hill & Mark Broom, also. A review is likely... Derek Jordan http://lnxland1.cudenver.edu/~djordan btw, tape one of "The World Of The Esoteric" is complete. check the tracklisting @ http://lnxland1.cudenver.edu/~djordan/esoteric_world.html

Repeat had a track on the Rumpus Rooms vol. 2 or something like that - a comp of tracks by Jake S., Scanner, and some other IDM faves. The Repeat track ("Close" I think) is very minimal stuff, and was credited to only Broom/Hill - which makes me think that Ed and Andy were just guesting on the album. An album which BTW I dearly love. I put it on a lot more than Spanners (except for Barbola Work). And don't forget the two Repeat tracks on the South of Market EP on Reflective -- one of which, as I discovered/remembered a couple of weeks ago, is also on the LP on A13. "Fish Stew" -- not a bad one to play doubles with. The other Repeat track is "End Up", and both are credited to Mark Broom, Ed, and Andy. On the flipside, "Soon", which is credited to Ed and Andy plus Jonah Sharp. JM

I went to an A13 night at het Paard in The Hague two weeks ago. DJ's were Mark Broom, Colin Dale and Richard Grey. Repeat performed live. Or rather, Mark Broom performed live as Repeat. No Ed or Andy in sight. The live set was solid 4 to the floor Techno all the way (as was the rest of the night). Ok, but a bit flat. Not mindbending, I am sorry to say. Colin Dale's DJing was good, Mark Broom was pretty brilliant, spinning 4 to the floor Techno with an edge that I missed in the live set. Now I have a real drama: Next weekend I'll have to attend both a Clear night (Clatterbox live a.o.) *and* see Speedy J, the Aloof and David Toop live. We dutch have a lot of hardship to conquer....
