First: A *word* from the author (of this rant).
&%#@!
This is stuff I get all the time on the digest.
Would whoever or whatever software is
doing this please desist sending this gibberish:

Huh?
I think I can express the displeasure of all the listers who are
musically-impaired that this thread has been the most boring and
irrelevant in recent memory.
There should be a separate (but, of course, Equal) newsgroup for this
kind of intelligent discussion.
Thank You!

This is beautiful. In the setting of all the new dubby stuff thats
popping up everywhere (Cosa, Full FRontal Dublotomy, StrangeBrew,
Sketch, Two Lone Swordsmen,Cee Mix, Sub Dub, Pressure of Speech,
Blue, etc) *NUF* really stands out. Its more ambient for one thing.
And, there are some very melodic builders with an almost-housey feel
but very subdued. This music feels very bluesy and soulful at
times. And to ice the cake, it has an experimental feel at times,
but so well integrated, it won't alienate the casual listener. It
could in fact help someone jump that gap. This is dubism taken to
the Nth Degree. Don't forget to add a dash of drum n' bass.
For me this EP is the perfect blend of some of the current styles of
techno music taken to a soulful, bluesey, sexxy extreme.
Its 6 pieces with a remix of one of the songs to make a total of 7.
nike air the third song is my favorite because of its dreamy ambience
with a faintly housey undercurrent way down in the mix.
nothel the 4th song is more techno dub.
westernized dub (#5) is also very deeply funkily dubby (!)
with sampled dogs barking and a faintly rocky, bluesey feel.
xylo 78 (6) is sampled or synthesized xylophone rhythm serving as the
basis for for a nice trip hop excursion into ambient dub.
not enuf remix is junglish (surprise) but very subtle about it. That
stuttering sound is way way down in the mix. This one has a rocky
feel to it too, but subtle, once again.
Highly Recommended (9/10)
If you liked their first album, this one is a bit better!
*Also* just in:
DJ Kicks: Kruder & Dorfmeister---excellent trip hop and *whatever.*
On first listen, KILLER!!!
Thanks for the bandwidth.
BTW: I'm off to Minneapolis to help while a relative has surgery at
the transplant center. BUT, I will probably be able to slip away
for records, cyber cafes ( and *IDM* listserv), clubs, (veggie)
restaurants, etc. If you have any info, send it to me ASAP---I'm
leaving Sat. AM.
